At last I’ve finished this short-sleeve jacket! In one way it’s only taken me about 2 months to make but I bought this yarn – a lovely Noro lamb’s wool, silk, and cashmere blend – in a Tokyo wool store with a friend, in 2009.
I thought I’d never like the heavy stripe in the yarn but once I decided to try a geometric pattern in the knitting itself the stripe worked as a feature (at least I think so). After 37 years knitting this is the first thing I’ve attempted without a pattern (other than a scarf or hat etc…) and only the 2nd thing I’ve knitted for myself!
The “pin” is a sakura wood wig pin I bought in Kyoto that same year and now have too little hair to use 🙂
Bring on Autumn weather so I can wear it!
