Today’s Writing Soundtrack: Ikimono-Gakari

I discovered Ikimono-Gakari on a recent trip to Japan and the emotion of the music touched me, though I didn’t understand all the words. I looked up the lyrics, but there really was no need, the sentiment is so strong in their music and and in the pure, sweet tones of their singer, Yoshioka Kiyoe.

A bonus to not understanding all the words is it helps me to make the music the soundtrack of my writing, without stumbling over lyrics which don’t match!

Ikimono-Gakari are difficult to find in the US (the iTunes links that come up are of their songs but not their versions), but they do have a last.fm page: Ikimono-Gakari

There is also a wikipedia page: Ikimono-Gakari, if Wikipedia is correct, their origin story is quite sweet: the boys met in first grade!
